Born in the large port town of Jinam, Evelyn was the oldest of three sisters and she excelled in just about everything. Her grades were always perfect, her handwriting was perfect, her poise was perfect... in fact, just about everything about her seemed perfect. Her parents often boasted to friends and strangers alike about their wonderfully talented eldest daughter, and how she would likely catch herself a nobleman husband someday. Evelyn, however, wasn't the slightest bit interested in love, and maybe if her parents had spent a little more time to notice, her personality would likely drive any potential suitors away. But that was fine. She was far better than any suitor could ever be, and any sort of relationship of either a romantic or a non-romantic nature was utterly beneath her.

That is, until she grew acquainted with Ian. Or rather, he pestered her so much and hung around her so much that she grew used to him, grew tolerant of him, and eventually found she had developed feelings for him. Her parents - and anyone else who knew in the town (which tended to be quite a good number of people, considering how talkative her parents could get) strongly disapproved. Not only was he a foreigner from that giant lump of land to the east, he seemed to know nothing of customs and hardly anything of their language. On top of that, the only thing he seemed good for was swordplay, which he often spent time teaching Evelyn when there was little else to do.

Maybe it was because everyone around her disapproved of him so much that she stayed with him as long as she did; she'd long since stopped caring what others thought of her, afterall. Whatever her reasons, he was more than grateful that she accepted him, despite all his flaws, and in turn, his presence revealed a different side of her which had never gotten to see the light of day before. Their relationship lasted five years, until the day she walked in on him proposing to her sister. He tried to explain that it was all a misunderstanding, but she had vanished the following morning leaving only a note written with bitter words.

In the three years since then, she traveled often, able to hold her own in a number of mainland languages, and frequently performed onstage as a singer. Before, she would always sing only for him, and it wasn't long before she grew as frigid as she had been before she ever met him. As for Azurane, she never intends to return. Her family could rot, and it would suit her just fine.

what she says ;

Evelyn is a frigid, sarcastic, arrogant and oftentimes downright cruel young woman. She's intelligent and carries herself the same as any noble, and she's well aware that people are apt to envy her. In fact, she's not above rubbing her talents and aptitudes in people's faces. Incredibly arrogant, she believes most everyone to be beneath her, and wouldn't even bother to give someone the time of day unless it suits her needs, or they proved to be on par with her in at least one aspect. She dislikes people in general, although she's especially harsh when it comes to talk of romance and love. In her mind, they are about as real as unicorns and pixie dust. Which is to say, not at all. Her words frequently have a sharp edge to them, and she could care less if she makes anyone cry as a result.

Despite all of this, however, there is another side to her. It has simply been buried very deep since the last time she saw Ian. Although she claims not to want or need friends, once someone is able to break through her frigid exterior even the slightest bit, they'll see she's a woman with a sharp tongue and a quick wit, who can truly smile, given the right prompting, and who isn't quite as frigid as she makes herself out to be. Of course, breaking through that exterior is the hard part.

what you see ;

Evelyn has long dark hair that always appears sleek. She is of medium height, and carries herself just like any noble. Her eyes are brown, and while her clothes tend to look rather simplistic at first glance, they are functional and mildly decorated and can make her stand out in a crowd. She rarely smiles, but when she does, it seems to light up her entire face. Her voice is a high alto, and she speaks rather formally more often than not. If given a choice between walking or riding, she would rather ride. As long as it involved a carriage of some sort. Horseback riding is far too vulgar for her tastes.
